AI and Academic Research: Can They Mix?

1. Why talk about AI in academia?

We have reached a point where it is impossible to ignore the benefits of Artificial Intelligence across countless sectors, even in the most conservative ones, such as academia. Debates about originality and authenticity have taken over conversations in schools and universities since AI became a concrete part of everyday life.

2. Avoiding extremes

So is the answer to reject Artificial Intelligence when we talk about certain areas of society? Or should we surrender to it and apply it at all times? Clearly, neither of these extremes is the most appropriate answer. Academic research is traditionally known as a tiring, time-consuming practice full of minutiae that can drive students and scientists crazy. Finding citations that fit the paper, formatting, ABNT standards—there are many concerns when presenting work to a committee.

3. AI as a research partner

And in these cases, we should think: a little help from a partner is worthwhile. And note the word: little help. AI will not produce a perfect scientific paper with groundbreaking foundations and never-before-seen theories. Artificial Intelligence works with existing writing and data, shaping them in the best possible way. But yes, it can help academics optimize and even enrich their research.

4. What we are building

For the past few months, our team has been investing a lot of time in an AI built especially for university students, researchers, and creators of any scientific content. We understand that Artificial Intelligence can fill a very important gap in the creation of academic papers and projects.

5. How CleverWrite helps

CleverWrite has a database full of citations for a wide range of topics, ABNT NBR 14.724 formatting for academic works, a feature to generate a complete paper by simply providing your topic, among many other capabilities. We want to remove the fear when it is time to produce your research, to encourage rather than intimidate. Make the process less painful and more tranquil.
